Hello to All Throughout the Northwest Community,

Can you believe it? Summer is over and we are back in business! As we prepare to open our doors for the 2026–2027 school year, I want to extend a warm welcome back to all of our returning families and a special greeting to those joining our district for the first time. 

Our teachers, administrators, and support staff have been working hard all summer to prepare our classrooms and programs for an exceptional year of learning. We are excited to have our students return to school!

Besides returning to school, I have two important messages to share with you. Please note a quick clarification regarding our breakfast and lunch pricing for the upcoming school year. If you previously saw differing amounts in the district newsletter or initial forms, please use the updated rates below:

• Breakfast (All Schools): $2.25
• Lunch:
  • Stinson Elementary & Northwest Primary: $3.50
  • Northwest Middle School & Northwest High School: $3.75
• Milk: $0.60

We have also made some adjustments for student attendance that the state has required us to do. The specific changes are addressed in the attachment. Attendance has changed: Excused and unexcused days now count the same. We are asking you to continue to communicate with the schools when your child is absent. We are also asking for you to always reach out to the school if your child is struggling with attendance. Working together will always help your child stay in school.
If you ever have questions on the attendance changes, contact your child’s school anytime.

As always, thank you for your support in making Northwest Local Schools a wonderful place to learn and grow. We are excited to see our students back in the halls and look forward to a successful school year ahead!
