  • Mental Health Counseling Services at Northwest Schools

Northwest students in need of mental health support can access therapy services through Phoenix Rising Behavioral Healthcare. Founded in 2005, Phoenix Rising is a private, non-profit agency with over 100 professionals dedicated to supporting individuals through a range of mental health challenges. Their staff utilize evidence-based practices and a trauma-informed approach to help students address emotional, behavioral, and psychological needs.

Phoenix Rising offers a range of services beyond individual counseling, including case management and medication management. These additional services are available to families based on the student's needs and insurance coverage, ensuring a more comprehensive approach to mental health support. Families can receive assistance in navigating resources both within and outside the school setting, providing holistic care to help students thrive.

To begin the process, parents must complete an intake packet, which can be obtained from the Northwest School Counselors or Office Staff. Along with the completed forms, parents must provide a copy of their child’s insurance card and their own photo ID.

After submitting the paperwork, an intake appointment will be scheduled to assess the student’s needs and connect them with the appropriate therapist. Counseling sessions take place at the student’s school, with summer sessions available at Northwest High School or a Phoenix Rising office. Services are billed through health insurance.
