To Everyone Throughout the Northwest Community:
I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to all of you.
Education is a true partnership, and our students’ successes this year—both big and small—are a direct result of your support and encouragement. Whether you volunteered in the classroom, cheered from the sidelines, helped with late-night homework, or simply kept your child motivated, thank you. You are an essential part of our school community.
We are so proud of our students, our staff, and the vibrant community we continue to build together at Northwest!
While summer is a time to relax and recharge, it is also a good opportunity to keep minds active. Here are a few quick ways to balance fun and learning over the break:
- Keep Reading: Visit the library in town! It is a great source for a way to challenge your child to read for just 20 minutes a day.
- Explore Nature: Limit screen time by encouraging the outdoors, family walks, or visiting local parks.
- Practice Daily Math: Keep skills sharp with simple everyday math, like cooking measurements, budgeting for a treat, or playing board games.
- Prioritize Rest: The best part of summer: Enjoy the slower pace, sleep in, and take time to recharge those batteries! Have fun in everything you do!
The first day of the school year will be August 20th. Students will be phased in until all grades are in class by August 24th! We will send more details out to our parents the closer we get to the school year.
On behalf of the entire Board of Education, our teachers, and our staff, we wish you and your family a safe and joyful summer break. Thank you for your support of Northwest Schools!
Have a great summer!
Respectfully,
Shawn
