Dear Northwest Community Families,

I am writing to provide you with an important update regarding an incident involving one of our school buses this afternoon.

This afternoon, the bus serving Route 27 was involved in a minor traffic accident where it was rear-ended. I want to reassure you immediately that all students and staff on board are safe and uninjured. 

Upon receiving the report, I traveled to the scene to assist our Transportation Supervisor, Deanna Gesaman. We worked  with the New Franklin Police Department, who were on-site to ensure the scene was secure. Out of an abundance of caution, we transferred all students to a different bus to complete their journey home. Please be aware that because of this transfer, students may have arrived at their stops slightly later than their scheduled times.

The occupants of the other vehicle involved are also safe. The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority, and we are grateful for the quick response of our transportation team and local law enforcement.
