Hello to all throughout the Northwest Community!

Happy Halloween to everyone out there! I spent the morning with our Primary students for their parade and to watch the Middle School Band play Halloween theme songs for the day! I was amazed to see so many smiling faces and creative costumes. Today has been an excellent day!

Good luck  to our cross-country teams as they travel south to run in the state finals! I had the opportunity to watch both boys and girls teams run in the regionals at Youngstown Boardman. This has been an amazing season for everyone involved!

And good luck to our football team as they battle the Salem Quakers at home tonight for the first weekend of the play-offs! This should be an exciting matchup tonight!

We have many excellent things happening throughout the school district. I had the opportunity to work with our teachers and parent leaders to develop a new vision and mission statement for the district. We will be sharing this with our community soon!

We will also be working on new strategic plans and we will be asking for your input! We will have a parent survey available in the month of March. We will be asking you what goals you would like to see Northwest Schools pursue for the next three years.

We will also ask any parents interested to attend meetings in April to share your thoughts on what goals should be next for us. We look forward to meeting and hearing from all of you soon!

Finally, we will be breaking ground on our High School addition on February 2, 2026. If you would like to see our current plans visit our website and click on the “About Us” tab. Then click on “Facilities”. You will be able to see our plans for Puff Hall, the new wrestling room and weight room, and the renovation of the Annex. We are also making plans to have the turf replaced at the stadium in May of 2026.

Great things are happening at Northwest!

Thank you for your support of Northwest Local Schools! As always, if you need anything or if you have questions on anything, please contact our principals or teachers. You can also contact me on my cell anytime at 330-573-9024!

Respectfully,

Shawn Braman
