Let me introduce myself - I have been teaching Math for eight years now, and this will be my sixth year at Northwest Middle School teaching 8th Grade Math and Algebra I. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Middle Childhood Education: Mathematics and Language Arts from Walsh University and my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Talent Development Education from Ashland University. Throughout my time at Northwest, I coached Varsity and JV Boys Golf at the high school (for three years) and Girls on the Run: Heart & Sole at the middle school (for three years). Most of my time has been spent doing what I love the most - teaching - but I also enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, fishing, running/biking, golfing, and spending time with my family, friends, and puppy.
I am so excited to continue my teaching journey here, share my love of Math, and get to know each one of you this school year! As your teacher, my goal will always be to help you understand new math concepts, develop your ability to think logically, make learning connections, and continuously grow your own math skills to reach your maximum potential. Therefore, it should be your goal to be a motivated, focused, and hardworking student willing to share your knowledge, collaborate, and seek help as needed. I know you can be a successful Math student this year if you put forth your best possible effort and a positive attitude toward learning!
This webpage will grow to become a major resource for you in our Math and Algebra classrooms (to be used daily along with our Google Classroom). It will include general classroom announcements as well as helpful information, documents, and forms related to your specific class. You also have access to additional resource pages (to the left) with information, links, and join codes for our ConnectED Online Textbook, Google Classroom, Edpuzzle, Get More Math, DeltaMath, Khan Academy, and Study Island all of which will support our new blended learning/flipped classroom. Please check my webpage regularly along with our Google Classroom, online gradebook, and Remind messaging system for course updates!
If you have any questions or concerns for me, beyond what this site's resources can provide, please feel free to contact me at the school at (330) 854-3303 ext. 2148, via email at email@example.com, or through our Google Classroom messaging.
Remember, no matter what our learning adventure may look like this year, I am here for YOU!
