My name is Mrs. Jennifer Tirbovich, and I am an Intervention Specialist at Northwest Middle School. This year I will be teaching in the Resource Room, as well as co-teaching in the 7th Grade ELA classroom. This year will mark 16 total years of teaching, and 11 have them have been at Northwest. I have enjoyed every minute of it! I knew from an early age that teaching was my passion. After graduating from Northwest High School in 1998, I immediately began my journey of obtaining my Bachelor's Degree in Middle Level Education (4th-9th Grade), with a focus in language arts and social studies, from The University of Akron. After graduating from college, I taught 10th & 11th grade ELA at a private school for students with disabilities called Lawrence School for 5 years. During this time, I realized that I had a longing to work with students who needed support in the classroom. I went on to pursue my Master's Degree from The University of Akron in Mild/Moderate Special Education (Intervention Specialist K-12th Grade). In 2011, I began teaching at Northwest Middle School and am very fortunate to have the opportunity to teach these wonderful students everyday.
Another part of my life that is extremely important to me is my family. I have a wonderful husband, named Jason, and two children who also attend Northwest, Drew and Logan. My children are very active in sports, which includes football, basketball, and baseball. Their activeness in these activities, as well as living within the district, gives me the opportunity to see many parents and students in the community daily. And let me tell you, this is an awesome community!!
With that being said, I can't wait to see what memories this year will bring! Welcome back! Let's have a spectacular year!
