Hello Band Parents and Students and welcome to my school homepage. You can ustilize this page to find links to documents and forms handed out in class as well as links to some useful websites like Remind and SmartMusic.
My name is Michelle Rennick and I have the pleasure of teaching high school marching and concert band as well as music appreciation at Northwest Local Schools. I grew up in Euclid, Ohio, just east of Cleveland and developed my love for marching and concert band in Euclid City Schools. In high school I was involved in all things band; marching, concert, pep and jazz band and also participated in colorguard, winter guard, swim team and the school newspaper. Upon graduating high school I pursued my passion for music and teaching by receiving my Bachelor’s of Music Education degree at The University of Akron where I participated in University Band, Concert Band, Flute Choir, University Choir and the Marching Zips where I was also a squad leader. My student teaching assignment was with Berea City Schools where I taught grades 6-12 concert and jazz band and assisted with musical pit.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude from The University of Akron, I moved down to North Canton, Ohio to teach band grades 4-12 at Central Catholic High School as well as St. Joan of Arc, St. Mary, St. Joseph and St. Michael’s schools. I spent three years teaching both concert and marching band for Central Catholic High School and the elementary schools before I transferred to Chippewa Local Schools in Doylestown, Ohio. At Chippewa I was again the only band teacher for grade 5-12 band where I also taught marching and concert band. My experience working with Chippewa was positive, however, I wanted to be closer to home in North Canton and after two years I felt it was time to move back to Stark county schools.
I recently accomplished the work necessary to acquire my Master's of Music Education at Kent State University and am excited to share all that I learned with my students.
While email is the best way to get a hold of me throughout the day as I travel between the middle school and high school for my teaching assignments, I am available during the day from 11:20 -11:45 AM and 12:15 - 12:40 PM during planning. And most days after school from 2:30-3:30 PM.
