Starting on April 6th, we will begin our Remote Learning Adventure. What that means is that your teachers will be tracking your online attendance and work completion. Really, all you have to know is that you need to be logging onto Google Classroom and completing all of your assignments on time. If you can do this, you have NOTHING to worry about! Your assignments will be posted in Google Classroom and on Remind. I will be deleting all previous mappers assignments so you will not have any confusion on what assignments you should be working on. I have recorded your efforts and will be using those scores for bonus effort. For my math classes, you will need to make sure you have a pencil, paper and a calculator handy each time you watch a video or work on mappers assignments. I will have a schedule posted that will help guide you through the week. This is just a guide. You may work at your own pace as long as you are completing your assignments. Again, it is very important that you are logging on and working. I will be tracking your efforts and reporting them to Mr. Ramos. For both my classroom and support students: If you need help with any of the assignments, you can do a google meet with me. I have set up some office hours that I will be available for help. During those times, I will be posting a link for you on your google classroom stream to join me in the google meet. If you are not able to meet me at those times, please email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org or message me on google classroom and we will set up a time for you to meet with me one on one. My office hours currently are: Tuesdays 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Fridays 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This will be a learning experience for all of us, and things may not always go smoothly, but remember, we are all in this together!! I appreciate any feedback you can give me as we journey through this adventure! As always stay safe and keep smiling!!
I would like to take this time to give you a brief overview about myself and my family. I grew up in the small town of Magnolia, Ohio and attended Sandy Valley High School. After graduation I attended The University of Akron, graduating with two degrees, one in Special Education and one in Math. I also have my Masters Degree in Education. I met my husband Tom in college and we have been married for 43 years this past June. We live in Jackson Township. I taught special education one year at Sandy Valley followed by three years in Wadsworth City Schools. I then proceeded to have three children and stayed home to raise them for twenty years. Our daughter, Annie, followed my footsteps into education, graduating from Miami University with a degree in Language Arts. She went on to get her Masters Degree in counseling where she taught in Hamilton City Schools in Cincinnati. She currently resides in Columbus with her husband (high school sweethearts) Stephen and twins, Wesley and Jocelyn who are 5 years old. Our son T.J. also graduated from Miami University with a business degree and then went on to join the Air Force where he was stationed in Las Vegas. He currently works for the government. He met his lovely wife Lesley there and they have my first born grandson, Cameron, who is 5. Our son Joe graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in International Business. He worked in Cincinnati for 2 years and then moved back to the area. He bought a house in Canton and has joined my husband in his insurance business.
I am looking forward to working with your children this year. This year I will be co-teaching 6th grade math, 8th grade math, and a resource room for 6th and 7th grade math. I will also have a math support period for 6th and 8th grade students who are in the co teach classes. Please feel free to contact me by email or phone with any questions or concerns.
