161- CREATIVE WRITING- Grades 11-12, One Semester, ½ Credit In Creative Writing, students write personal narratives based on their own experience and short fiction drawn from their imaginations. Characterization, point of view, description, dialogue, and other narrative techniques are practiced in addition to other writing techniques appropriate to all other forms of writing. Opportunities may also be provided for writing poetry. Students will write a variety of assignments in this course, with a concentration on the visual aspect. Some writing is based on their imaginations. Characterization, point of view, description, dialogue, and other narrative techniques are practiced, in addition to reviewing and evaluating a movie. A photo opportunity is also presented where he/she creates an “outside” experience in Canal Fulton. Opportunities may also be provided for writing poetry. This course counts only towards elective credit and does not count towards the required English credits for graduation.
