162- MOVIES AND LITERATURE - Grades 10-12, One Semester, ½ Credit Movies and Literature offers students the opportunity to study film and its relationship to literature. Students will learn how to recognize, analyze, and evaluate the literary dynamic and cinematic aspects of film. They will respond, both orally and in writing, to the filmmaking concepts and literary themes taught in class. In addition, students will be responsible for writing film reviews, comparing and contrasting the works of various directors, and understanding the concept of genre and its application to the study of film. This course counts only towards elective credit and does not count towards the required English credits for graduation.
