Welcome to my home page!
My Educational Background:
I earned my degrees in elementary education and special education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2001. After college I taught fifth grade for six years at Stinson Elementary. In 2007 I resigned to be a stay-at-home mom. When my daughter entered Kindergarten in 2012 I came back to Northwest to teach Title I reading. During the three years I taught Title I reading, I completed coursework at Walsh University to earn my reading endorsement. I picked-up lots of new strategies in these courses which I have put to good use in my Kindergarten classroom. This is my third year teaching Kindergarten and my twelfth year in education. I love teaching and I can't imagine a more rewarding career.
A Little Bit More About Me:
I am originally from NW Pennsylvania. I grew-up in a little town called McKean, right in the middle of the snow belt. (However, that isn't a complaint because I honestly do love snow!) After college my husband, Jon, and I settled in Northeast Ohio. In 2007 we had our daughter, Evie, and in 2014 we adopted our son, Sam, from China. We also have a handful of pets which include our dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, goats and a whole bunch of fish.
