Northwest Bullying Prevention Program

Northwest Local Schools is instituting a district-wide program aimed at preventing bullying throughout the school setting by uniting staff and students on the issue.  The Northwest Bullying Prevention Program, which is being implemented K-12, is a proactive approach to improving peer relations and creating a more positive learning environment.  In the coming weeks, we will be administering an electronic questionnaire to students in grades 4-12 in order to get a better understanding of the perception of bullying as our students see it, and we ask your permission for your child to participate.  Please take a moment to carefully look over the informational slip that your child brings home this evening.  If you decide to allow your child to assist us in this important data collection measure, no action is needed.  Know that your child’s participation will remain completely voluntary and anonymous.  If you wish for your child to opt out of the survey, simply sign the form and return it.  A sample survey is available upon request. Further information about the Northwest program is available on the district web page, by contacting your child’s school or through Mrs. Marcy McKendry, our district  Bullying Prevention Program Coordinator.  Mrs. McKendry can be reached at 330-854-4646 x3003.   Thank you for taking the time to make Northwest Local Schools an organization that fosters positive peer relationships.
