I read an interesting book over the summer on encouragement. I thank you for the encouragement you express to us in many ways. Your smile when you enter the office, your positive tone of voice when you call us, and willingness to volunteer and play an active role in your child(ren)’s school. I hope we share that same encouragement with you. Primary students are one of the biggest beneficiaries of encouragement. Transition is tough on most people, but a young student needs to be reminded that hard work will pay off and giving good effort is rewarding.
I challenge you, as I challenge myself, to encourage your children with that smile, that positive tone, and words that affirm and would make any child want to get up in the morning and start another day.
As Mike Ditka once said, “It’s not how many times you fall, it’s how many times you get back up.” My parents always helped me get back up.
Thank you for entrusting your most precious with us.
