Message from Bill Stetler, Superintendent of Northwest Local Schools:

The start of another school year is just weeks away, and we hope students are looking forward to the start of school on August 26.

Northwest Local Schools is fortunate to be part of a community that has many recreational opportunities for children and their families.  Summer opportunities abound in the Northwest corner of Stark County.  Perhaps the most important benefits of summer vacation may be found in the relaxed opportunities children have to spend with family.  May I encourage you to make the most of the remaining days of summer.

U.S. educator, Sidonie Gruenberg, once said, “ Home is the place where boys and girls first learn how to limit their wishes, abide by rules, and consider the rights and needs of others.”

I am convinced that the quality of our students at Northwest  is due primarily to parents who expect the best from their children while they’re at home, which in turn, produces students who expect the best from themselves at school.

Our theme, as we open the new school year, is the “Power of Encouragement.” I encourage all of you to make the most of your remaining days of summer and also to achieve all that you can during and throughout this new and exciting school year.

Looking forward to seeing you on the 26th of August!
